The “Breast Cancer Portrait” project provides breast cancer survivors with a free, personalized portrait session. We celebrate their strength, share their stories, and raise awareness about the challenges they face – from diagnosis to post-treatment.

Offer a supportive and uplifting experience for breast cancer survivors, helping them to see their inner and outer beauty through the art of photography.

Raise awareness about the challenges faced by breast cancer survivors, including the emotional, physical, and financial impacts of their diagnosis and treatment.

Create a platform where survivors can share their stories, connect with others who have had similar experiences, and find strength in their shared resilience.

Document the experiences of breast cancer survivors in different cities, states, and countries to tell a global story about the challenges faced by women around the world.
In the shadow of doubt, where vulnerability meets the challenge of altered self-image, feeling disconnected from one’s own sense of beauty and femininity and the ability to feel seen and valued.
“Breast Cancer Portrait” is not just a photography project; it’s a movement towards embracing every chapter of a woman’s life with self-love and acceptance. Moreover, it is an opportunity for breast cancer survivors to document their testimonies to showcase the thriving spirit of survivorship. In a world where such stories remain untold, these portraits become a beacon of motivation and a testament to a life richly lived, regardless of the challenges faced. Inspired by the positive impact of portrait photography on self-efficacy, coping skills, and body image, we are dedicated to offering cost-free personalized portrait sessions to breast cancer survivors that do more than capture images.
WPF is dedicated to celebrating the courage and resilience of breast cancer survivors, providing them with a platform to share their stories and find empowerment through visual storytelling. This project aims to portray what it means to have breast cancer today, addressing the challenges and misconceptions survivors face, from diagnosis to post-treatment complications, social isolation, financial concerns, body image issues and PTSD, on a global scale.

Breast Cancer Portrait is a free photography and visual storytelling program for women affected by breast cancer. Through women’s portraits and personal stories, the program supports breast cancer awareness and creates space for each participant to be seen as a whole person, not only through her diagnosis.
Breast Cancer Portrait sessions may take different forms depending on the current project and available resources.
Most participants are invited to take part in an ongoing photography art project about women affected by breast cancer. In these sessions, the portraits are created within the artistic and visual concept of the project.
We also organize group events where women come together and are photographed individually, usually with little or no preparation before the event.
Fully personalized sessions based on one woman’s individual story are also part of the program. These sessions are offered less frequently because they require considerably more planning, preparation, photography, and editing time.
Every session is approached with care and respect, but the amount of preparation and personalization may vary.

The photoshoot is designed to be supportive, respectful, and creative. It gives participants an opportunity to reconnect with themselves and create meaningful portraits for women that reflect identity, personality, and life beyond breast cancer.
The experience is not about knowing how to pose or looking perfect. It is about self-expression, confidence, and female empowerment through photography.
Breast Cancer Portrait is also a public awareness and visual storytelling program. Some female portraits and stories may be included in exhibitions, publications, the Womanity Portrait Foundation website, social media, or educational projects.
The details of how your photographs and story may be used will be explained before participation, and the appropriate permissions will be requested.
